Tomorrow I leave for Carstensz Pyramid, West Papua, Indonesia. I’ll be climbing with good friend Perfecto Sanchez and we hope to try for the summit on 5 or 6 August, weather dependent. Carstensz, or Puncak Jaya as it is better known locally, is the highest point in Oceania (4,884m or 16,024′) and forms part of my Seven Summits project.
I can’t wait to get onto the mountain!
